Inge Martha Jernander

Inge Martha Jernander, 80, of Baraboo, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Greenway Manor Nursing Home in Spring Green with her family by her side. She was born on March 2, 1936 in Nieder-Weistritz, Germany, the daughter of Fritz and Martha (Rother) Kellert. She met the love of her life, Burton Jernander and they were united in marriage on April 10, 1957 in Aschaffenburg, Germany. The union was blessed with four children. Over the years, the family relocated to various army bases before finally settling in Baraboo in 1972. She spent many years working as a certified nursing assistant at St. Clare Hospital working in various departments. Inge was a great homemaker, an avid gardener and took great joy in tending to her flower, vegetable and raspberry gardens. She especially enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include children, Joachim “Joe” (Tina) Jernander of Dublin, Georgia, Betty (Randy) Van Diver of Janesville, Susan Bochler of Baraboo, and Bernard (Lisa) Jernander of Reedsburg; seven grandchildren, Christopher Jernander, Nicole Booker, Miranda Coplien, David and Brian Kyster, Kelsey Draves and Alex Jernander; four very precious great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hunter and Sydney Coplien, and August Draves. Inge is further survived by a brother, Winfried (Ursula) Kellert; a sister, Barbara (Wilfred) Zimmer; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Kellert, all of Germany; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Inge was preceded in death by a brother, Hans Kellert of Germany; mother-in-law, Selma Jernander of Baraboo; sister-in-law, Charlene (James) Seymour of Baraboo; two brother-in-laws, LeVern Jernander of Santa Rosa, California and Dewey (Millie) Jernander of Milwaukee. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, with Deacon Ron Pickar officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo. In lieu of flowers memorials to Sacred Heart School in Reedsburg or St. Clare Hospital Auxiliary in Baraboo would be appreciated. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
