Thomas “Tom” F. Mcintyre

Thomas “Tom” F. McIntyre, 82, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Tom was born in Baraboo on Feb. 17, 1934, the son of William L. and Rachel H. (Knoop) McIntyre. He grew-up in North Freedom and graduated 8th grade from St. Joseph Parochial School in 1948, and from Baraboo High School in 1952. He was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country from November of 1958 until November of 1964 and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve. Tom was employed as a salesman at Vodak Radio and TV for over 35 years until his retirement. In his spare time, he did volunteer work at St. Clare Meadows Care Center and was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo. Survivors include his brother, William “Mick” (Carol) McIntyre of Baraboo; several cousins; and many friends and neighbors from the Donahue Apartments where he had lived for the past 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Baraboo, with Fr. Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom with military rites provided by the North Freedom American Legion Post 172. Memorials in memory of Tom may be given to the St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
