Keith Gordon Wilkinson, 82, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully at St. Clare Hospital on Friday, August 12, 2016 after a brief and courageous fight with lung cancer. Keith served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 on the USS Brownson and USS Hazelwood and saw combat during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he began his lengthy career in manufacturing working for Flambaeu Plastics, Industrial Coils and Big Joe Mfg. After his career in manufacturing, Keith co-owned and operated Wilkinson’s Cleaning and Painting Services with his wife, Beverly, until retirement. Keith loved to watch his beloved Cubbies and Packers as well as kid around with everyone he came in contact with. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; two children, Michele (Tom) Schaefer and Wayne Wilkinson; brother-in-laws, William (Donna) Wiese, Peter Morton and Patrick Crary; sister-in-laws, Nancy (Gene) Jarstead and Dorothy Wiese; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Private services were held at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home with interment in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Military rites were provided by the Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard. Special thanks to the therapists at St. Clare Cardiac Rehab for the many years of support and encouragement that helped Keith improve his quality of life after suffering a severe stroke. The family would also like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at St. Clare Hospital in both the ER and ComfortCare units. Their kindness and support have been invaluable to the family. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
